Senior Pavement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design input for highway pavement renewal schemes on the M25 network
• Develop design briefs, reports, specifications, and deliverables within budget and programme
• Undertake optioneering, feasibility studies, and whole life costing
• Review contract documentation and Traffic Management Plans
• Coordinate with Asset, Project Management, and Design teams to ensure efficient construction processes
• Manage internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery
• Lead internal Gateway reviews during the design phase
• Support sustainability activities and drive innovative, safe design solutions

Requirements

• Relevant vocational qualification (MEng, MSc, BEng, BSc, HNC, or HND)
• Membership of a professional institution such as ICE or CIHT
• Registered with the Engineering Council at IEng or CEng level (or able to obtain within 12 months)
• Broad knowledge of highway design codes (DMRB, MCDHW, TSRGD, etc.)
• Experience in highway engineering for Local Authorities or strategic high-speed networks
• Knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety legislation
• Valid UK driving license

Preferred Qualifications

• Pavement Engineer Certificate from the Institute of Asphalt Technology
• Asset Management experience
• Knowledge of Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8
• CSCS card registration
• Experience leading small design teams
