About the role

Responsibilities

  • Answer and triage incoming calls and patient referrals for reproductive genetic counseling and MFM-genetics consultations
  • Oversee the schedule for seven genetic counselors, including the management of urgent add-on visits
  • Provide clinical administrative support for the MFM-geneticist, including scheduling consultations, CVS, and amniocentesis
  • Manage medical records, place genetic test orders, and handle billing investigations and pre-authorization requests
  • Review schedules for appropriateness and request necessary medical records for case preparation
  • Relay negative and low-risk genetic testing results to patients following genetic counseling
  • Assist patients with MyChart activation and telehealth readiness
  • Manage Epic templates for genetic counselors and the MFM-geneticist as a super user
  • Support outside referrals for genome sequencing and maintain necessary consent forms and records
  • Ensure adequate stock of genetic testing kits across multiple ordering offices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Three years of related professional experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Administrative experience in a genetics setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
