About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage U.S. and international patent application processes, including timelines and milestones from filing to expiration
- Conduct Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analysis and gather necessary legal, technical, and business inputs
- Perform complex queries and generate analytical reports using patent databases
- Support Patent Governance meetings by convening stakeholders, developing reports, and recording minutes and decisions
- Review and negotiate standard agreements such as Confidentiality, Material Transfer, and Clinical Study agreements
- Direct the work of outside counsel, contractors, and vendors to meet project objectives and timelines
- Assist attorneys in resolving complex legal issues across multiple disciplines and functional areas
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and/or a relevant Paralegal certificate
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant legal experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent processes
- Experience with Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analysis
- Proficiency in using patent databases
Preferred Qualifications
- 6–8 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities both independently and collaboratively
