Senior Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign tasks to paralegals and legal assistants within an assigned practice area
• Assist with training and development of legal support staff through coaching and mentoring
• Administratively manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and appellate procedures
• Manage all aspects of trials and hearings by preparing pretrial documents and tracking trial exhibits
• Prepare, file, and organize legal documents using Microsoft Word, CM/ECF, and Docket Bird
• Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw
• Perform cite-checking to Bluebook standards and Shepardize authorities
• Maintain case files and electronic case-management systems including NetDocuments
• Communicate with courts, outside counsel, clients, experts, and vendors

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of Paralegal experience
• Thorough understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures
• Proficiency in Bluebook citation formatting
• Experience using CM/ECF, PACER, Bluebook, and Westlaw
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
• Trial experience
• Experience mentoring and training junior-level legal support staff
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
• ABA-approved Paralegal certificate
