Senior Packaging Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical rigor within the UFS Packaging R&D team to support the North America agenda
• Lead complex packaging activities including innovations, cost savings, business continuity, and sustainability programs
• Manage multiple package development projects and prioritize tasks based on strict timelines
• Collaborate in a cross-functional environment with Brand, Planning, Product Development, Procurement, Quality, and material suppliers
• Interface with Manufacturing and Supply Chain for line trials, production start-ups, and improving line efficiencies
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and hold suppliers accountable to quality and performance standards

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Packaging Science or an engineering equivalent
• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience in the packaging field
• Strong knowledge of rigid packaging and experience with various molding platforms
• Deep understanding of the package development process and engineering principles
• Proven project management skills with the ability to maintain packaging commitments to project schedules
• Ability to develop primary and secondary packaging components that meet consumer, brand, and manufacturing objectives
