Senior Packaging Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to commercial packaging operations, including on-the-floor troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Investigate and resolve deviations, non-conformances, and packaging-related events using root cause analysis and CAPA implementation
• Support packaging line performance by identifying improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize waste
• Evaluate and qualify packaging materials to ensure suitability for commercial manufacturing and manage supplier issues
• Develop and execute test protocols and generate technical assessments for material and process changes
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Regulatory teams to ensure rapid issue resolution

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or Industrial Design (with experience levels varying by degree type)
• Strong understanding of materials such as glass, polymers, adhesives, inks, varnishes, and paper
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging with commercial manufacturing support
• Hands-on experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, including deviation management
• Experience leading or mentoring team members
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
