About the role
Responsibilities
- Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while optimizing profit margins
- Visit dealers and industrial suppliers to drive new and repeat business
- Prospect and develop new clients and negotiate new contracts
- Build reliable networks to stay informed on local and regional market trends and pricing
- Perform P&L analysis and leverage knowledge of sorting and processing operations
- Coordinate with administrative staff and the commercial team for accurate documentation
- Manage and lead a team, providing coaching and support
Requirements
- College diploma in business, sales, or marketing
- 3+ years of experience in sales (recycling or metals industry preferred)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to travel across the territory
- Strong negotiation, math, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of metal alloy identification
- Experience with CRM systems
- Bilingualism (French/English)
