About the role
Responsibilities
- Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage goals while optimizing profit margins
- Visit dealers and industrial suppliers in person or via phone to promote new and repeat business
- Prospect for new clients and negotiate new contracts
- Develop contact networks to stay updated on local and regional market trends and pricing
- Perform P&L analysis and use sorting/processing knowledge to optimize pricing
- Coordinate with administrative and sales teams to ensure accurate documentation of purchase transactions
- Provide feedback and recommendations on scrap purchase prices for AIM-operated sites
- Manage and coach a team
Requirements
- College diploma in business, sales, marketing, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience (recycling or ferrous/non-ferrous metals industry is an asset)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel throughout the territory
- Knowledge of CRM systems is an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset for the Quebec region
