Senior OT Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex OT network issues (L3 support)
• Design, implement, and maintain OT network architecture across sites and ROCC environments
• Configure and maintain firewalls including Fortinet, Palo Alto, VPNs, NAT, and segmentation
• Ensure proper network segmentation between IT and OT environments
• Monitor and optimize network performance, uptime, and reliability across sites
• Support incident response and root cause analysis for network and security-related issues
• Participate in patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of network equipment
• Collaborate with Security, IT, and Operations teams on standards and implementations
• Report project status and attend staff and client meetings
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation

Requirements

• University technical degree or 3-5 years of relevant IT network experience
• Professional IT systems management experience in at least two fields: Server hardware/OS, Networking, Cybersecurity, Remote infrastructure, Data storage, or Tier 2/3 support
• Ability to read electrical, network, infrastructure, and cabling drawings
• Experience providing remote support or direct/indirect service
• Ability to work in an electrical environment
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to travel throughout North America or internationally as required

Preferred Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in networking or OT engineering roles
• Experience in energy, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial environments
• Experience in NERC CIP-regulated environments
• Experience with compliance programs such as PCI-DSS, NIST, or ISO-27001
• Proficiency with Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP/MSTP)
• Expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate), Palo Alto, and Cisco networking
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, RTACs, and industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA)
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE
