Senior Oracle DBA

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and tools
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements
• Perform regular database backups and recovery testing
• Manage database security, user roles, and permissions
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures
• Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Ensure high availability and implement disaster recovery plans
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application performance
• Maintain data integrity and privacy in accordance with compliance policies
• Create and maintain technical documentation for database systems

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Expertise in creating and optimizing PL/SQL queries and stored procedures
• Proficiency in one or more RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database structures, and performance tuning
• Proven experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery solutions
• Solid understanding of database security, encryption, and access control
• Experience with scripting and automation tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud databases such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database
