Senior Oracle Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement new technologies and support operations for numerous Oracle databases in high-availability, high-volume transaction processing (OLTP) environments
• Configure, administer, and implement complex database infrastructures, including multiple replication technologies and high availability architectural topologies
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics using Oracle utilities such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OSWatcher to achieve optimum performance
• Manage the implementation of database patches, upgrades, and migrations
• Support multiple servers and databases of high complexity, ensuring data control, integrity, and accessibility
• Perform fail-over testing and demonstrate expertise in networks, storage, encryption, security, and cloud technologies
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Engineer
• 6+ years of experience with Oracle 10g through 19c, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and RAC
• Expertise in Exadata (CC/CS) and Golden Gate replication (multi-directional) and Conflict Detection and Resolution (CDR)
• 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies and backup/restore techniques for very large databases (VLDB)
• Proficiency in shell scripting, performance monitoring, tuning, and database backup and recovery
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with database design, architecture, and large-scale migration projects
• Strong knowledge of PL/SQL development and enterprise architecture
• Understanding of the relationship between information technology, business practices, and consumer markets
