Senior Optical Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead optical and mechanical testing programs for new product development and qualification
• Translate customer and internal requirements into structured testing plans
• Analyze test data using statistical methods and present technical conclusions to stakeholders
• Lead red-flag and predictive testing to assess product performance and qualification risk
• Conduct failure analysis to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions
• Balance performance, cost, and schedule through cross-functional coordination
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal teams and external customers
• Mentor engineers and technicians

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in fiber optic or telecommunications systems
• Proven ability to independently lead technical projects
• Experience analyzing test data and applying statistical methods
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of fiber optic connectors, ferrules, assemblies, and optical test methods
• Hands-on experience with advanced metrology, vision measurement systems, or environmental chambers
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or technical staff
• Technical publication, conference presentation, or patent contribution experience
