About the role
Responsibilities
- Work with physicists to architect optical systems, sub-systems, modules, and components for neutral atom computers
- Advance engineering practices through independent research and problem-solving
- Coordinate with R&D/science teams to translate scientific advances into products
- Troubleshoot technical issues at headquarters and customer locations
Requirements
- B.S. in optics, optical engineering, applied physics, or related field
- 5-8 years of industry experience designing optical and opto-mechanical systems
- Proficiency in Zemax, COMSOL, and CAD design
- Expertise in free-space optics, modulators, electronics, lasers, and ultra-high vacuum
- Strong hands-on laboratory skills including assembly, alignment, and testing
- Experience bringing complex optical systems from concept to production
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field
