Senior Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall results of a multi-shift manufacturing operation, focusing on safety, quality, reliability, and cost.
• Champion Lean manufacturing principles and the Herman Miller Performance System (HMPS) to drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste.
• Manage capital and expense budgets while driving economic value added (EVA) and managing to business conditions.
• Lead and develop a diverse workforce, including mentoring operations managers and ensuring appropriate staffing and performance management.
• Drive the manufacturing side of new product development to ensure manufacturability and successful implementation.
• Ensure a safe working environment by establishing plant safety programs and maintaining compliance with state and federal legislation.
• Partner with customer service and corporate quality teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of management experience in operations and manufacturing-related processes.
• 4 years of senior-level experience leading salaried employees.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong financial management skills and understanding of business dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership and production-floor employees.
