About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of construction projects, including planning, design, budget maintenance, scheduling, and labor compliance.
- Coordinate project delivery by tracking engineering activities with Project Managers, contractors, and field staff.
- Interpret architectural and engineering plans to provide contracting strategies and coordinate award documentation.
- Review and respond to Requests for Clarifications (RFC), Change Order Proposals (COP), and Change Directives (CD).
- Prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiating fair costs for contractor change orders.
- Monitor applications for payment and ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines.
- Perform site walks to verify field conditions and develop progress reports.
- Review contractor baseline schedules, including critical path and recovery schedule analysis.
- Ensure compliance with District standards, Division of State Architect (DSA) guidelines, and building codes.
- Maintain comprehensive project files, including correspondence, invoices, change orders, and claims.
- Coordinate progress meetings, prepare agendas, and manage action items.
- Assist in project close-out activities, including the acquisition of as-builts, test records, and maintenance manuals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in construction management for commercial, public, or educational facilities.
- Proven experience managing projects with values exceeding $15M.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent qualifying experience).
- Ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering plans and proposals.
- Knowledge of Division of the State Architect (DSA) guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with LEED certified projects or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
- Deep familiarity with the DSA construction and design process.

- Salary range of $112,000 - $117,000.
