Senior Ocean Operations Associate

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end export handling of ocean freight shipments (FCL and LCL) within the regional network.
• Ensure high standards of quality by meeting internal KPIs and SLAs to ensure shipments move on-time.
• Act as the primary point of contact for shippers and clients, managing first-level internal and external escalations.
• Provide recommendations to expand the operational footprint and growth in the Qingdao region.
• Collaborate with gateway and regional management to monitor and improve operational performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to support key initiatives and optimize operational infrastructure and procedures.
• Partner with Account Management to design effective feedback loops and ensure client needs are met.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or ocean carrier operations.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a process-oriented, structured thinking approach.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A client-service mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous challenges and execute complex processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with ocean freight operations.
• Experience in consulting or building operational structures from the ground up.
