Senior Nuclear Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead complex neutronics modeling and Multiphysics analysis
• Serve as the responsible nuclear engineer for the design and integration of specific reactor components
• Mentor junior engineers and develop modeling/simulation tools
• Coordinate validation and verification activities
• Interface with regulatory bodies for licensing and compliance
• Spearhead prototype testing and experimental campaigns
• Lead cross-disciplinary integration efforts across neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and structural mechanics
• Define qualification and testing requirements across engineering disciplines

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Deep experience with MCNP, Serpent, or SCALE
• Experience with Multiphysics simulations (thermal-hydraulics, structural, heat transfer)
• Experience with reactor kinetics, safety analysis, or integrated systems modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or C++
• Experience with high temperature gas reactors, heat pipe cooled reactors, or TRISO fuel
• Success in regulatory processes with DOE, NRC, or DoD
• Experience with advanced reactor transient tools such as SAM, AGREE, or PARCS
• Expertise in reactor shielding design and radiation transport analysis
• Experience with integrated nuclear-thermal-mechanical analyses for reactor structures
