About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional technical efforts to transition new optoelectronic products from R&D into full-scale production
- Manage build readiness by defining prototype requirements and coordinating clear-to-build activities
- Oversee production performance, including yield tracking, cost-reduction planning, and BOM accuracy
- Guide failure analysis and troubleshooting activities with internal engineers and contract manufacturers
- Define and maintain production test and process requirements in partnership with R&D and Operations
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews for PCBs to ensure manufacturability and compliance
- Drive pilot builds, production forecasting integration, and packaging design improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Opto-Electronic, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in the design, manufacture, or test of optoelectronic products
- Proven experience launching complex optoelectronic module products into production environments
- Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and end-to-end NPI processes
- Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers or global suppliers
- Ability to travel as required to support manufacturing transfer and ongoing production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multifunctional, globally distributed engineering and manufacturing teams
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools or database systems
- Familiarity with production processes specific to optoelectronic component manufacturing
- Experience reviewing or maintaining Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Knowledge of root-cause analysis methodologies and return-material processes
- Additional language skills such as French, Spanish, or Thai
