About the role
Responsibilities
- Embed early in design reviews for PCBA and box-level control electronics assemblies to drive DFMAT feedback
- Review and redline PCBA designs regarding signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability
- Assess box-level enclosure and chassis designs for assembly access and rack integration
- Drive completeness of Technical Data Packages including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test procedures
- Author and peer review assembly instructions and manufacturing SOPs
- Lead cross-site NPI transitions from prototyping to production
- Coordinate with Planning, SCM, and Production Support to align demand and capacity
- Lead process development for controls rack integration, including assembly sequences and quality checkpoints
- Provide feedback on testability gaps and suggest improvements to diagnostic tooling
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing or NPI engineering focused on electronics hardware
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in technical writing for assembly instructions and manufacturing documentation
- Hands-on experience reviewing PCBA designs and reading schematics
- Direct experience with PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, reflow, wave solder, hand solder)
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 quality standards
- Electromechanical assembly experience including box builds and cable harnessing
- Experience with PLM/ERP systems such as NetSuite or Arena
- Ability to work onsite in Bothell, WA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 19” rack-level electromechanical integration
- Familiarity with RF electronics, DAC/ADC-based control systems, or precision analog electronics
- System-level understanding of control electronics architecture
- Experience with interface design and connector DFMA
- Scripting skills in Python for test automation
- Experience transforming R&D prototypes into CM-ready products
