Senior Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and migrate Palo Alto firewall solutions across global environments, including security policies, segmentation, and SSL decryption.
• Lead complex security and network integrations using core networking principles such as BGP, OSPF, and traffic engineering.
• Partner with cloud and infrastructure teams to implement secure, scalable connectivity across on-prem and hybrid environments.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for advanced troubleshooting involving deep packet, flow, and session-level analysis.
• Support network security operations and incident response, diagnosing issues related to routing, NAT, and policy enforcement.
• Mentor junior engineers and NOC staff on networking fundamentals and operational best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to security architecture and firewall capabilities to improve reliability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of network and security engineering experience across enterprise routing, switching, and firewall platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Palo Alto firewalls, including SSL decryption and Panorama-based management.
• Strong experience designing and troubleshooting complex environments using BGP, OSPF, NAT, and packet-level analysis.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, traffic flows, and structured troubleshooting methodologies.
• Proven experience with network security design principles, including segmentation and zero-trust concepts.
• Experience with scripting or API-driven automation to improve operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Arista networking, load balancers (e.g., F5), or proxy platforms.
• Experience with cloud networking and security, specifically AWS networking constructs.
• Familiarity with edge security platforms such as Cloudflare.
• Knowledge of modern application and container networking models, including Kubernetes.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Palo Alto or Cisco.
