About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist System Administrators and the Lead Network Engineer in developing and implementing IT/network plans
- Manage network operations using SNMP network management tools
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network problems using protocol capture/decode analyzers
- Plan and build networks from OSI Layer 1 through Layer 3
- Manage TCP/IP internetworking connectivity, including addressing and subnetting
- Install, configure, update, and document the physical cable plant
- Install and manage networking hardware such as switches, bridges, hubs, and transceivers
- Configure and manage network security, including firewalls, IP blocking, and VPNs
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly)
- US Citizenship required
- Seven (7) years of intelligence community experience as a network engineer or administrator
- Six (6) years of experience with Cisco switches and network hardware
- Ability to perform Layer 1 tasks, including pulling cable and racking/stacking hardware
- Proficiency with MS Visio for producing network diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or 4 years of equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on network engineering experience in a customer environment
- Strong project management experience through the full project lifecycle
- Familiarity with Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Fibre Channel protocols
- Experience with Linux operating systems and SolarWinds monitoring tools
- Familiarity with JIRA and Cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
