Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN/Edge network equipment and related services across multiple geographies
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems of varying degrees of complexity
• Install and maintain network hardware in remote co-location facilities
• Assist in network operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration
• Interface with various service providers to deploy and maintain transport circuits
• Interface with developers and business stakeholders to identify requirements and recommend and engineer solutions
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Requirements

• 5+ years working in network engineering related fields
• Solid understanding of Cisco NX-OS operating system
• Solid understanding of the BGP routing protocol
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Solid documentation skills with high attention to detail
• Experience with taking projects from planning through to completion
• Capacity to juggle a mixture of break-fix and project work
• Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours or out of hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Arista EOS operating system
• Experience with routing protocols like EIGRP or OSPF
• Experience with layer 2/3 switching/routing technologies, VXLAN, VLAN, EVPN, VPC, MLAG
• Experience with load balancer technologies like F5 LTM or A10 ADC
• Industry standard qualifications like CCNA/CCNP
• Experience with Windows and Linux-based operating systems
• Experience with scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
• Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls
• Experience using/supporting enterprise monitoring tools like Elasticsearch or Splunk
• Open-source infrastructure monitoring like CheckMK or Nagios
• Application and web service administration like IIS or Apache
