Senior Network Engineer

About the Company

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions such as national security, global connectivity, and disaster response.

Responsibilities

• Design and build LAN infrastructure for corporate offices and facilities, including switching, routing, and VLAN design
• Implement zero-trust network architecture, including microsegmentation and identity-aware access controls
• Deploy and manage FortiGate firewall infrastructure and Cloudflare Zero Trust configurations
• Manage hybrid network connectivity between on-premises facilities, AWS Commercial, and AWS GovCloud
• Develop network automation using tools such as Ansible or NetBox
• Partner with security engineering on compliance evidence collection for CMMC and FedRAMP assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with 5+ years of enterprise networking experience (or 7+ years without a degree)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise switching, routing, and VLAN design
• Demonstrated experience managing FortiGate firewall infrastructure
• Experience with cloud networking in AWS, AWS GovCloud, or multi-cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Zero Trust, tunnels, and DNS
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS clearance or higher
• Proficiency with Ansible and NetBox
• Industry certifications such as CCNP or ACNP
• Background in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and DFARS compliance
