Senior Municipal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the overall success of Major Projects in Canada as the Roadway Design Lead
• Act as a Transportation engineer for provincial MTO highways and local Municipal Roadways
• Lead and manage civil roadway components from inception to completion, including highways, interchanges, and intersections
• Incorporate data from other disciplines such as watermain, storm, and sanitary services
• Provide technical guidance, support, and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff
• Prepare technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, and cost estimates
• Perform quality control checks on plans and design quantities using Civil 3D, InRoads, or Open Roads Design
• Conduct initial site inspections and field work
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• University degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
• Minimum 10 years of experience
• Proven reputation working with MTO or Municipalities
• Experience in highway engineering and consulting environments
• Proficiency in highway engineering policies, regulations, and guidelines
• Demonstrated experience in detail design work
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
