Senior MR&D Machining Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide critical machining lab support for Boeing Defense Programs by fabricating, assembling, and testing prototypes and engineering test fixtures
• Engage with engineers to refine designs for manufacturability
• Perform complex analysis and evaluation of parts, materials, processes, and equipment through research and testing
• Lead root cause analysis for failed parts and processes to reduce future failures
• Generate test plans, identify failures, and document results and recommendations
• Support continuous improvement by leading the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing concepts
• Provide technical expertise and application knowledge to internal and external customers

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• 3+ years of experience in hands-on machining and mechanical assembly
• Proficiency in 3 and 5 Axis Programming and Machining
• Proficiency in 2 axis Lathe programming and machining
• 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and documents
• 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment
• Experience with design and assembly using CATIA and/or SolidWorks

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to utilize Mastercam CNC Programming Software
• Knowledge of aircraft assembly
• Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiarization with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work in a dynamic setting with shifting daily priorities
