Senior MQ Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable IBM MQ and Liberty messaging infrastructure
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and tune MQ settings
• Lead enterprise messaging projects from planning through deployment
• Serve as the final escalation point for complex MQ and Liberty issues
• Implement encryption, auditing, and security controls across MQ environments
• Forecast resources and plan for growth to ensure scalability
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and operations teams
• Develop architecture diagrams, procedures, and recovery strategies
• Mentor junior MQ administrators and promote best practices

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship)
• 12+ years in an MQ Administrator role or related field
• Proven expertise with IBM WebSphere MQ and Liberty environments
• Strong experience with IBM MQ administration, clustering, and high-availability
• Familiarity with security controls, encryption, and compliance frameworks
• Ability to work onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD
• Ability to meet 24x7x365 on-call requirements
