Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer (AFSIM Specialist)

Responsibilities

• Script, develop, and execute complex operational scenarios within AFSIM to meet customer requirements and support high-level system analysis
• Partner with data analysts and systems engineers to research, model, experiment, and analyze DoD capabilities, platforms, and MBSE processes
• Represent the program at technical interchange meetings and weekly planning sessions with U.S. Government customers
• Utilize new developments alongside AFSIM for comprehensive threat simulation and multi-domain analysis tasks
• Dynamically adjust to shifting mission priorities and manage multiple project responsibilities to meet critical milestones

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of relevant professional engineering experience (additional years of direct M&S experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Extensive, hands-on experience with scripting, scenario development, and configuration within AFSIM
• Proven track record collaborating with military analysts in the research, modeling, and analysis of DoD capabilities and network topologies
• Strong background in developing data-driven analytical methods for large-scale system performance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with simulation tools such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) filter or Tactical Data Analysis and Connectivity System
• Familiarity with Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) and Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) standards
• Experience with Link 16 and/or Command & Control (C2) communications
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, CRI-O) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Rancher)
• Experience with Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
