Senior Modeling & Optimization Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own analytical delivery on customer engagements end-to-end, from operational data to recommendations
• Work across fast, low-setup models and high-fidelity validation modes
• Analyze customer operational data including order profiles, SKU demand, and throughput
• Design, build, and execute discrete-event simulation models to validate warehouse designs
• Develop optimization models for layout decisions, fleet sizing, and zoning strategies
• Build self-serve tooling to enable the commercial organization to run routine analysis
• Translate customer data insights into product requirements
• Conduct structured experiments, sensitivity analyses, and design space explorations

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry or relevant experience
• Proven track record of owning analytical work end-to-end with autonomy
• Strong proficiency in Python with object-oriented design skills
• Experience in at least two of: discrete-event simulation, mathematical optimization, statistical modeling, or applied data science
• Solid engineering fundamentals including systems thinking and version control
• Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience in simulation engineering or operations research
• Familiarity with DES frameworks like SimPy or salabim
• Background in warehouse automation, robotics, or industrial engineering
• Experience with data visualization tools like Plotly, Matplotlib, or Dash
