Senior ML Infrastructure Engineer

Arlo is rebuilding health insurance for small businesses from first principles. By using AI to identify fraud, steer members toward high-quality care, and automate operational overhead, Arlo ensures more premium dollars go toward actual care rather than administrative waste.

Responsibilities

• Own the data infrastructure and core data platform pipelines driving underwriting and claims
• Partner with data scientists and actuaries to translate business logic into production code
• Set standards for building, monitoring, and operating data systems, including SLAs and on-call practices
• Improve the pipelines and API at the core of the underwriting engine
• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines for third-party claims data
• Architect data infrastructure for company-wide operational workflows

Requirements

• Strong track record of building scalable data systems and pipelines in production
• Deep proficiency in Spark, Databricks, and modern data processing infrastructure (AWS or equivalent)
• Fluency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and Git
• Ability to own workstreams end-to-end with minimal oversight
• Strong communication skills and a highly analytical mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a regulated space like healthcare or insurance
• Experience supporting data science or actuarial teams in production environments
