Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of backend services for real-time model inference and bidding decisions
- Collaborate with data scientists to deploy, monitor, and optimize ML models for bidding strategies and pricing
- Oversee the development of A/B testing frameworks and experimentation tools
- Ensure backend services are high-performance, low-latency, and scalable for millions of events per second
- Set best practices for architecture, API design, and distributed systems
- Work with cloud infrastructure teams using Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Partner with product managers to define and implement new features and optimizations
- Optimize performance and cost-efficiency across backend infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and perform post-deployment analysis
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in backend engineering with a focus on scalable, high-performance systems
- Experience with machine learning and deploying models for production inference
- Extensive experience in distributed systems, microservices, and API design using Python
- Hands-on experience with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Understanding of A/B testing concepts and integration into backend systems
- Proven ability to manage cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes and Docker (AWS preferred)
- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform
- Strong problem-solving skills and end-to-end ownership from design to production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OpenRTB and real-time bidding systems
- Expertise in real-time data processing and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
- Experience with model serving frameworks (Triton, TorchServe, TF Serving, etc.)
- Understanding of the full machine learning lifecycle
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
