About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end modeling strategy and analytic architecture for telemetry and log analytics, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and observable.
  • Design and specify models for time-series and event logs, including anomaly detection, forecasting, pattern mining, and NLP for unstructured logs.
  • Define architectural patterns for batch and real-time streaming analytics, collaborating with data and platform engineering on data contracts and feature stores.
  • Drive innovation by staying current with the latest advancements in ML, time-series analysis, and observability ecosystems.
  • Act as a thought leader by mentoring team members and contributing to research publications, white papers, and intellectual property development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in applied science or complex software systems, specifically involving machine learning and analytic architecture.
  • Proven expertise in modeling techniques such as anomaly detection, forecasting, change-point detection, and pattern mining.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience building and managing ETL pipelines, with a preference for Airflow.
  • Deep knowledge of feature engineering for time-series and event data.
  • Familiarity with observability ecosystems such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Splunk, Azure Monitor, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Practical leadership experience in MLOps standards, including model governance, versioning, and drift detection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with advanced methods like state-space models, causal inference, or deep learning for sequences.
  • Demonstrated ability to define SLO/SLI-aware machine learning models for observability.
  • A track record of publications, patents, or open-source contributions in the field of ML or reliability engineering.
