About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the in-region focal point for mining business development and portfolio management across the MENAPP region.
- Lead the preparation and implementation of the Baluchistan Mining Master Plan and support the Reko Diq corridor in Pakistan.
- Support the design and implementation of mining partnerships and compacts in Egypt and Jordan, focusing on regulatory reform and geological information systems.
- Coordinate technical assistance and analytical work with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in Saudi Arabia.
- Act as a senior interface with governments to provide technical guidance on mining sector strategy, governance, and infrastructure planning.
- Coordinate engagement with development partners, international financial institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to align public-sector planning with investment needs.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in mining, engineering, geology, public policy, economics, management, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in the mining sector.
- Significant experience in mining sector policy, regulation, and institutional reform.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-country programs and work across diverse institutional frameworks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the WBG MENAPP region.
- Exposure to large-scale mining investments and transactions.
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, or Urdu.
- Knowledge of core infrastructure sectors such as power, transportation, or utilities.
- Experience in financial advisory services.
