Senior Mining Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage mining contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and performance expectations
• Assist the Technical Services Superintendent in managing mine planning, scheduling, drill and blast, geotechnical, survey, and reconciliation activities
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with statutory and company HSE requirements
• Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and cost performance
• Collaborate with site leadership, maintenance, processing, and technical teams to ensure integrated operational delivery
• Manage mining budgets, forecasts, and operational reporting requirements
• Mentor and develop operational and technical personnel
• Support long-term mine planning and operational strategy development

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience managing mining contractors and driving contractor performance
• Strong understanding of Technical Services functions and mine planning support
• Proven leadership and team management capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Statutory qualifications and/or supervisor certifications
