Senior/Mid Engineer - WebRTC/SIP/Telephony

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust WebRTC and SIP infrastructure supporting high concurrent sessions with low audio latency
• Lead integration of CPaaS platforms such as Exotel, Twilio, or Amazon Connect for global voice connectivity
• Build real-time communication orchestration layers connecting voice agents to customers across PSTN, VoIP, and web channels
• Implement advanced telephony features including call routing, transfer, conference management, and DTMF handling
• Optimize network protocols, codec selection, and bandwidth management for high-quality voice delivery
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and failover mechanisms to ensure high call completion rates
• Troubleshoot complex real-time communication issues involving network, audio quality, and platform integration

Requirements

• Production experience building WebRTC applications (STUN/TURN, SDP negotiation, codec handling)
• Mastery of the SIP protocol stack and call flow management
• Hands-on experience with at least two CPaaS platforms (e.g., Twilio, Exotel, Amazon Connect)
• Strong understanding of VoIP fundamentals, codecs (G.711, Opus), and quality metrics (MOS, jitter)
• Proficiency in backend development using Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
• Experience building event-driven architectures for asynchronous, real-time data streams
• Experience deploying and maintaining production-grade communication systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LiveKit, Jitsi, or other open-source real-time communication platforms
• Knowledge of media servers such as Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or Kamailio
• Understanding of network optimization techniques for global deployments
• Experience with containerized deployment and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Background in telecommunications or networking
