Senior Microbiology Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples.
• Develop, validate, and optimize microbiological testing methods in compliance with GMP and pharmacopeial requirements.
• Perform environmental monitoring within production areas and laboratories, including data trend analysis and excursion investigations.
• Investigate microbiological product complaints, deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and contamination events.
• Provide root cause analyses and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) recommendations.
• Review microbiological test results, protocols, and laboratory documentation to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Engineering teams to support process improvements and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
• 2-3 years of microbiology experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and specialized microbiological equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach to accuracy and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
