Senior Metrology & Inspection Specialist

Responsibilities

• Execute visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on complex machined and additively manufactured components
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to develop inspection strategies
• Implement inspection methodologies across first article, in-process, and final inspections
• Document and escalate non-conformances in compliance with AS9102 and regulatory standards
• Maintain proficiency with metrology tools including calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators
• Define inspection strategies for additive-to-machined transitions and complex geometries
• Partner with production and engineering teams to improve part quality
• Contribute to root cause analyses, CAPA, and internal audits
• Mentor inspectors, machinists, and engineers in metrology and GD&T application

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in high-precision manufacturing (aerospace, defense, or automotive)
• Mastery of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Expert proficiency in selecting and using metrology tools
• Experience with AS9102 FAI documentation and quality system protocols
• Ability to lawfully access information subject to US export controls

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with non-contact metrology systems like laser scanners
• Working knowledge of QMS standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
• Experience with additive manufacturing and CNC machining
• Proficiency with digital tools like NX or Teamcenter
