Senior Metrology Engineer

Responsibilities

• Select, develop, and maintain measurement systems and metrology tools
• Create SOPs and workflows for sample measurement and provide training to staff
• Develop and use data management systems, including LIMS and MES
• Develop non-destructive measurements for use in challenging environments
• Collaborate with R&D technical staff, process engineers, and technicians

Requirements

• B.S. in a technical field (e.g., materials science, electrical engineering, or physics) or equivalent industrial experience
• 7+ years of experience as a process or metrology engineer
• Thorough understanding of measurement systems, including optical/electron microscopy, surface probe, optical/NIR probes, and x-ray measurements
• Experience working with metrology vendors and directing service providers
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as stooping, climbing, or standing for extended periods
• Dedication to safety in environments involving heat, noise, strong magnets, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field
• Experience in semiconductor, battery, solar cell, or optoelectronics industries
• Experience managing high uptime systems
