About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-construction wind resource and energy modeling assessments following industry best practices
  • Design meteorological monitoring campaigns using towers, remote sensing, and monitoring stations
  • Design wind farm turbine layouts optimized for energy capture, constructability, and environmental constraints
  • Perform field visits to evaluate prospective turbine sites and identify locations for measurement equipment
  • Develop new methodologies and software tools to improve wind resource assessment quantification
  • Support the Independent Engineer (IE) reporting process and communicate with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Prepare internal site suitability analyses and review reports supplied by turbine manufacturers
  • Participate in relevant industry conferences and committees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Meteorology, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Aeronautics, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field
  • 5 years of industry-relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Openwind, Windographer, and other industry-standard wind modeling tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for working within multi-discipline teams
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with solar resource assessment and PV modeling
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, R, Python, SQL, or Visual Basic
  • Ability to create user-friendly, GUI-based data analysis tools
