Senior Merchandising Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and category strategy to achieve sales and margin targets for the SDA category
• Lead annual contract negotiations with suppliers regarding pricing, volumes, product range, and payment terms
• Monitor inventory levels and manage OTB to ensure healthy stock availability while respecting working capital constraints
• Analyze competition and market trends to develop counter-strategies and maintain market share
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to design and execute category-specific promotional plans
• Oversee category performance metrics including GMROF and GMROI to drive profitability
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Finance, Product Registration, and Store operations to ensure effective process implementation
• Manage planograms, assortments, and clearance plans for aging or end-of-life inventory

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Category Management within the Retail industry
• Proven experience managing the SDA (Small Domestic Appliances) category is preferred
• Post Graduate degree in a relevant field
• MBA in Sales and Marketing is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
• Excellent planning, organizing, and communication abilities
