About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) specific deliverables within larger projects or direct MEP commissions
- Manage feasibility studies, procurement reports, estimating, and cost planning
- Oversee tendering and procurement processes, including single and two-stage methods
- Manage post-contract cost variances, change control, and monthly cost reporting
- Perform cost checks and valuations on large projects
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with clients and other consultants throughout all project stages
- Mentor and lead Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the MEP team
Requirements
- Proven track record in cost management or quantity surveying across the full project lifecycle
- Professional qualification (RICS or similar) or currently working towards it
- Degree or HNC level qualification
- Experience delivering MEP elements of work for clients
- Strong knowledge of and contacts within the MEP supply chain
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in digital software for cost management services
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
