Senior Medical Science Liaison

Responsibilities

• Develop and foster trusting relationships with Hematology Thought Leaders and healthcare providers to ensure scientific engagement.
• Disseminate clinical and scientific information regarding Vertex compounds in a timely, ethical, and stakeholder-focused manner.
• Contribute to the Medical Affairs strategy by providing external stakeholder insights to shape the medical plan.
• Represent Vertex at medical congresses through scientific session coverage, booth staffing, and delivering conference debriefs.
• Utilize CRM and data analytics tools to capture interaction details and manage territory planning effectively.
• Mentor or train less experienced colleagues, including assisting with new hire onboarding.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (PhD, Masters, or MD).
• Proven experience working with orphan drugs or rare diseases.
• Ability to appraise and comprehend complex medical and scientific literature.
• Strong ability to present clinical information credibly in varied professional settings.
• In-depth understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and regional payer landscapes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working within a matrix environment.
• Fluency in both English and German.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel overnight up to 70%.
