About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and healthcare providers within the obesity therapeutic area.
- Execute Amgen Medical function and product strategy to provide accurate scientific information and improve patient outcomes.
- Conduct peer-to-peer activities and in-depth scientific exchanges with community healthcare providers and clinical investigators.
- Engage with clinical sites to support the obesity pipeline and communicate scientific data, outcomes, and economic value.
- Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders to inform company strategies.
- Support congress activities, speaker training, and Amgen-sponsored research.
- Partner across field roles to create a coordinated "One Amgen" experience for customers.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
- Strong scientific communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. degree.
- Seven or more years in a medically related field, including clinical or medical research.
- 2+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison role within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity therapeutic areas.
- Previous experience managing the designated New York territory (Manhattan and Long Island).
