About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and healthcare providers in Northern California
- Execute medical and product strategies to advance the scientific platform for rare diseases, specifically Severe Active GPA/MPA and Sjogren’s Disease
- Conduct in-depth scientific exchanges to provide balanced clinical information consistent with compliance standards
- Engage with stakeholders within IDNs and other institutions to communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data
- Support Amgen-sponsored research, serve as a study lead, and liaise with potential investigators for non-sponsored research
- Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders to inform corporate strategies
- Lead congress activities, support speaker training, and mentor other MSLs as designated by leadership
Requirements
- Doctorate degree (e.g., Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.)
- Or, a Master's degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience
- Or, a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
- Strong scientific communication and relationship management expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven or more years in a medically related field, including clinical or medical research
- 2+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison role within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Specific expertise in Rare Disease, GPA/MPA, or Sjogren’s Disease
- Previous experience managing the designated Northern California territory
