Senior Medical Coder - IPDRG

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage medical coding operations, ensuring high quality, productivity, and adherence to turnaround times (TAT)
• Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in IPDRG and other assigned functional areas
• Manage personnel, including performance management, discipline, coaching, and attrition/retention strategies
• Act as the primary point of contact for client interactions and internal stakeholder communication
• Monitor and analyze periodic reports, metrics, and KPIs to evaluate operational practices
• Support quality initiatives and internal audits to ensure all compliance parameters are met
• Assist senior management in planning, implementing, and modifying existing operations and procedures
• Prepare annual business plans and manage operating budgets

Requirements

• Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Allied Medicine (BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental, Pharmacy, or Nursing)
• Professional certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or CCS-P)
• 8+ years of medical coding experience
• 2+ years of experience in a Team Lead role
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Proficiency in healthcare reimbursement methodologies
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, provide 1-on-1 coaching, and identify training needs
