Senior Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level medical assistant duties including venipuncture, EKG, wound care, and specimen collection
• Dedicate 25% of time to clinic-specific initiatives to drive workflow and process improvement
• Train, mentor, and orient other Medical Assistant staff on clinical tasks and documentation
• Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation within the electronic health record
• Organize and stock exam rooms, sterilize medical equipment using an autoclave, and manage inventory
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control, privacy, and patient confidentiality policies
• Coordinate patient care as directed by providers and respond effectively in emergency situations

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• 3+ years as a certified MA or 5+ years of total experience (with at least 2 years certified)
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Mastery of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Proficiency in electronic health records and intermediate Excel skills
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Proven ability to mentor others and lead in emergency situations
• Ability to pass Tuberculosis screening and provide proof of immunity to required vaccinations

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of lead or supervisory experience
• Bilingual skills
