Senior Mechanical Piping Designer

We collaborate closely with developers and operators of oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission systems, supporting both extensive linear projects and site-specific developments.

Responsibilities

• Produce complex 3D designs and models of sites, facilities, pipelines, supports, and foundations
• Collaborate with designers and engineers in the development of process and site design
• Train, coach, or mentor Mechanical Designers and provide leadership to design staff
• Review the work of other Mechanical Designers and Drafters for accuracy and adherence to standards
• Develop design and drafting standards, procedures, and recommendations for updates
• Travel to field project locations to make field sketches, take dimensions, and as-built assemblies
• Assist engineering and project management with researching product specifications and contacting vendors

Requirements

• Bachelor or Associates degree in a related field or accredited designer/drafter certificate
• Five or more years of experience developing complex 2D and 3D designs
• Expert skills in AutoCAD and Autodesk family of products for 3D modeling and drafting
• Expert skills in CADWorx family of products (Plant, P&ID, Spec Editor, and Isogen)
• Expert knowledge in energy infrastructure design, plant layout, piping, and support/hanger design
• Expert knowledge in pipe, valves, fittings, and material specifications
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record for travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Revit or other 3D software
