About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design automotive wire harnesses and busbars using SolidWorks
  • Manage wire routing paths, lengths, strain relief, and connector selection
  • Create drawings, BOMs, and design documents via Arena PLM
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers on harness design and EMI/grounding principles
  • Participate in first article builds and travel to manufacturing locations
  • Validate designs through builds and verification testing

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive harness systems development
  • Proficiency in 3D mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX)
  • Experience with PDM and PLM software (Arena, ePDM, or Teamcenter)
  • Familiarity with harnessing standards (AS50881, MIL-E-7016, EWIS, or MIL-STD-704)
  • Ability to translate electrical schematics into precise cable routing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical CAD software like Capital Harness Designer
  • Experience designing form-boards and end-of-line test devices
