Responsibilities

• Estimate mechanical trades including sheet metal, HVAC piping, plumbing, and associated systems
• Prepare mechanical cost estimates from conceptual phase through final construction documents
• Review and validate subcontractor proposal pricing and change orders
• Develop value analysis by identifying cost-efficient alternatives to proposed scopes
• Support meetings with owners, architects, and engineers regarding project cost phases
• Lead mechanical cost efforts in core markets such as Data Centers, Aviation, and Laboratories
• Perform material takeoff and input data into computerized cost models
• Manage, train, and mentor junior mechanical estimators
• Prepare detailed MEP analyses of subcontractor and vendor bid proposals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or equivalent MEP mechanical subcontractor estimating experience
• 10+ years of mechanical estimating experience specific to HVAC, plumbing, and/or building automation systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans
• Experience leading a team of MEP mechanical estimators
• Outstanding communication and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical commercial trade software such as FastEst, QuickPen, or Estimation
• Working knowledge of mechanical estimating manuals and guidelines such as MCA and PHCC
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
