Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of mechanical subsystems for current generation WHOOP hardware, driving improvements from concept to mass production
• Lead design and analysis of mechanical solutions to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
• Manage engineering change implementation with vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure seamless production integration
• Define and lead DOE and validation strategies to optimize product and manufacturing performance
• Lead root cause investigations to resolve quality, yield, and reliability issues in production environments
• Maintain CAD models and technical documentation, including 3D/2D drawings, BOMs, and ECOs
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Travel internationally up to 20% to support manufacturing partners and production builds

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the design, improvement, and sustaining of complex mechanical products (consumer electronics, wearables, or medical devices preferred)
• 4+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience, including tolerance analysis and DFx/DfM integration
• 3+ years of experience working with Tier 1 and 2 contract manufacturers to drive engineering changes
• Demonstrated experience with high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding and automated assembly
• Strong expertise in root cause analysis and failure investigation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electromechanical systems, including integration of sensors, PCBs, and flex circuits in compact products
• Experience developing and scaling automated test systems or complex production fixtures
• Background in wearable, health-focused, or highly constrained consumer electronic products
• Experience leading engineering efforts in fast-paced or startup environments
