Senior Mechanical Engineer, Thermal

Responsibilities

• Own thermo-mechanical hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator
• Design fusion hardware within 3D CAD software (e.g. NX)
• Perform 1D, 2D, and 3D analysis using in-house and out-of-house tools like ANSYS
• Own and understand designs related to thermal, fluids, and structural subsystems
• Work hands-on alongside technicians to implement hardware designs
• Troubleshoot hardware issues on integrated fusion generators
• Hold design reviews to gather feedback and iterate systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 7+ years of professional experience delivering full-scope engineering projects
• Experience applying engineering first-principles to challenging problems
• Hands-on exposure to fluids, mechanical, and thermal engineering disciplines
• Advanced experience with CAD software such as NX or Solidworks
